Background
In collaboration with 2002 Studios we have put together a wonderful opportunity for year 7 and 8 students to work with professional musicians and producers to develop songs highlighting issues concerning the environment.
It is aimed at year 7 and 8 students with musical enthusiasm - singers, instrumentalists and MCs. During the four days students investigated issues concerning global threats like climate change and environmental degradation which put in jeopardy a safe future for people, species and their habitats.
Climate change can bring water and food shortages to millions of people around the world and put hundreds of thousands of plants and animals under threat of extinction. Changes in the weather such as floods, storms, droughts and heatwaves are becoming more frequent and severe. World leaders show concern but while they cannot agree on what to do emissions of greenhouse gases continue to rise.
