Internet Explorer - Toolbar

Above is a picture of the commonly used buttons that sit along the top part of the Internet Explorer screen. These buttons can be used as a shortcut (easier than using the menu i.e. File, Edit view etc). To use a button, click on it with your mouse.

The individual buttons are explained as follows:

1. Back This button will take you back to whatever document you were previously viewing. Pressing it immediately takes you back one document. If you have browsed many pages, pressing it repeatedly will continue to back you up one page at a time. Once you reach your beginning location, it will be greyed-out and unavailable.
2. Forward The forward button takes you forward to the next document if you have previously browsed multiple documents. You can move forward until you reach the last page that you had browsed, at which time the forward button will be greyed-out.
3. Stop The stop button will stop ANY current operations by Internet Explorer. It will stop any type of file from loading. It can also be used to stop animations from continuing once a page is loaded.
4. Refresh This button will reload the current document that you are viewing. It is useful if the page updates very frequently so that you can view these changes as soon as they are available. If you are loading a document and the transfer was interrupted, you can reload the full document again by clicking here.
5. Home This button will return you to the page you have selected as the default start-up page for Internet Explorer.
6. Search Clicking the Search button on the browser toolbar opens the Search bar, a separate pane on the left side of the window. You can choose the type of information you want to find (such as a Web page, a business, or a person's e-mail address). When you type in your search request, a list of results should appear in the Search bar. When you click items in this list, the actual pages appear in the right side of the browser window. Click the x at the top of the Search bar to close it.
7. Favorites With Favorites bar, you can store links (shortcuts) to your most frequently visited Web sites or documents. You can easily add items to this list by using the Favorites menu. You can also access your favorite Web pages, by clicking the Favorites button.
8. Media Opens the Window Media Player which allows you to listen to music and watch video clips on the Internet.
9. History The History list can help find the web pages you previously visited. If you click the History button on the browser toolbar, the History bar opens, displaying a record of all the sites you have visited in the last 20 days. You can change the number of days that History keeps.
10. Mail You can use this button to send and receive messages, and even send HTML pages as e-mail.
11. Print By pressing this button you can print the current web page on your browser.
