We will create a party invitation using Clipart and WordArt and Drawing Tools.
See an example of what you can do at the bottom.

1. Open Microsoft Word and create a New Page.

2. Type the following Text (Arial size 16 blue) a third of the way down the page and centre it.

Dear…………………

You are invited to

Sanjit’s Surprise Birthday Party.

To be held on the 20th June 2004
At
The Preston Road Hall 6.00pm

I can/can not come

R.S.V.P.

3. Click at the top left of page to set the cursor there.

4. Follow instructions to view clipart. Look for the Border Category or search for Borders. When have found one you like, click it to put in on the page.

5. Double click the border image. Click Layout tab and click Behind text. Click O.K.

6. You may have to adjust the position of the Clipart by clicking and dragging it accordingly. You also may have to adjust the position of the text by deleting or increasing the space above text. Make sure there is enough space above the text to place the WordArt.

7. Follow instructions to view WordArt. Type: Party Invitation

8. Click the WordArt once and click Text Wrapping. Click In Front of Text.

9. Position the Word Art above the text.

10. Follow instructions for Drawing Tools a few basic shapes. Add colour to them and position them on the page as desired.
