<< PREVIOUS Exercise 1 - Create Staff Database   NEXT >> You work for a company and you have been asked to set up a database to store information about the staff.
1. Start Microsoft Access and Save your database as Staff. 2. Create a table with the following Fields and Data types. (left) Note! When selecting the data type for Pension Scheme, click the Yes/No Data type. Click the grey Lookup tab at the bottom of the Design view window. To the right of Display Control, click into the white box and select Text Box. 3. Save your Table as Employees. If you are asked if you want to create a primary key, click No (Primary keys are used to help link tables together). 4. Click Datasheet View
Note! In the Currency field, click to the right of the 0’s, press your backspace key to delete and type the amount without the pound sign or commas. The figure will automatically be formatted. Note! The Pension Scheme field will probably display No until you change it. This option is automatically selected to save typing. 5. Click Save 6. Print Table. 7. Close Database. << PREVIOUS   - NEXT >> |
