In celebration of Black History month switched on students created a 30 second music video montage based around objects and images symbolising the development of urban music. Eg Trainers and drums
Switched on in partnership with Bigga Fish have sourced a musician to create four pieces of music inspired by the development of urban music from disco and reggae to grime and garage Yari a radio DJ from 1Xtra traced urban music's origins in an interactive workshop and gave the students a brief for the music montage.
Through a series of workshops and master classes the students researched the roots of the urban music they listen to now and filmed images relating to the theme. They produced a thirty second montage using creative editing techniques. View their video using the links below.
